Il Bareto

Our family stayed in a beautiful country home twenty minutes outside of Siena in a national forest next to the castle of Celsa. We had a giant chestnut forest above the home and fields with mushrooms and more forest below and an olive orchard on the sides. We loved staying there and exploring the woods and seeing wild boars and other wild life.

More views from and of il Bareto.

There was also a cat at Il Bareto that the kids loved to play with. His name is Luigi and he looks a lot like White Socks, except 15 pounds heavier and would eat almost anything. We would do tests on him and he would eat old crunchy bread, popcorn, zucchini, cooked potatoes, beans... the list goes on. He was generally pretty feisty, but with Jacob's coaching, submitted to posing with swords.
